Industrial Lubricants

Lubricating Greases

Grease is a semi-solid lubricant. Grease usually consists of soap emulsified with mineral or vegetable oil. The distinguishing feature of the greases is that they have a very high initial viscosity, which, when shear stress is applied, decreases giving the effect of an oil-lubricated bearing with approximately the same viscosity as the base oil used in the grease formulation.
